Yes, that’s my problem. The map changes its colour from night to day.
But at Periscope- Binokular- or Bridge-look, the sky is black.
My Tablet:Lenovo N308, Android 4.2.2
Greetings from Germany

Hi Michael,
in 3D there is a little difference in the sky color during day and night, but it should never be black, always light or dark blue…The screen can be black in this situations :
In periscope view, when the periscope is lowered.
In binoculars and deck views, when the submarine is not at surface (the crew is inside the submarine).I use the same color for the sky in periscope, binoculars, deck and Fly view.
If in the Fly view the sky is blue then I would exclude a device problem…I hope it is not a new bug…
Please inform me if the problem is still present, thanks !Dimitri

Hallo Dimitri,
ja, it only happens on my LENOVO N300 (21 Display), a big one.
The others (Lenovo A10, Wigo-Handy)-small displays-, are fine.

In Fly view there is blue sky with vertikal black stripes. very strange, isn’t it?
So I think that the big display is the reason………..Michael

Hi Michael,
perhaps it is due to some OpenGL parameters that I did not set, probably their default values are ok for some devices, and not ok for others…
Or, perhaps, I draw the sky too near the “far” limit of the 3D view and it causes problems…
I will make some experiments in these days, as soon as possible I will release a beta version for this test.
I will also search if there are bugs or hints for your Gpu, is your tablet the N300 (Intel® HD Graphics) or the N308 (NVIDIA® 72-core GPU) ?
Thanks !

Hallo Dimitri,
It’s the N308 with 19,5 inches NVIDIA Tegra 4 T40S.
Many thanks for your effort.

Hi Michael,
I made 2 little modifications, perhaps it will fix this bug, not sure…
1) Now I explicitly ask to OpenGL to use a 24 bits depth buffer (perhaps Tegra 4 uses 16 bits as default, no idea…)
2) I moved the “far clipping plane” a bit more distant from the Sky…I am not able to reproduce this problem on my devices, so I can only make this experiment and hope it works.
If it doesn’t fix the bug, I will try other modifications.I released a beta version (V1.24.1.beta), so other players can test it on other devices and warm me if these modifications cause problems with other gpu.
To try the beta version it is necessary to have the full version of the game and join this Google+ community :
https://plus.google.com/communities/107769328753081025616Inside the community there is a recent post with the link for downloading the beta.
Please advise me if you want to test this beta version but you don’t have the full version of the game,
in this case I will prepare a beta for the Demo version. Thanks again for your help !

Hallo Dimitri.
I tried the beta.
On startup , after 1 or 2 seconds, the sim closes itself with a small sign:” U-boat sim closing now”.
greetings

mmmm… not a good result…
It seems due to the new OpenGL config, I set it at startup…
I am sorry, I try to find a better solution… -

Hi Michael,
I released now an other beta (V1.24.2.beta), I hope it will fix this problem !
I write also a little log file, it can help me to understand which config is used by your gpu.
Here is the link to the beta testers community :
